Bacon and Butter

In traditional farm to table style, Bacon and Butter prepares everything from scratch with local and seasonal ingredients often purchased from local farmer’s markets. Though it is the only brunch spot on this list without an outdoor patio, Sacramento A-List voted it the best brunch spot in the city; so save it for one of those record-breaking heatwave weekends.

Cafeteria 15L

Striving to evoke the nostalgia and comfort of a home-cooked meal, Cafeteria 15L offers a weekend brunch full of farm to table options, including their Chocolate Banana Waffle and egg skillets on top of homemade tater tots.

Dad’s Kitchen

2968 Freeport Boulevard, Sacramento + 8928 Sunset Avenue, Fair Oaks

Both locations, in Land Park and Fair Oaks, serve brunch in American comfort food style and boast the most beautiful patios in Sacramento. Dad’s Kitchen was featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives with Guy Fieri who called the Hot Blonde sandwich “a club sandwich gone wild” — see a video clip from the episode here.

Evan’s Kitchen

Though they serve lunch and dinner, Evan’s Kitchen is locally famous for their breakfast menu. This chef owned restaurant boasts a warm atmosphere and hearty comfort food with everything from benedicts to chicken fried steak to french toast.

Firestone Public House

One of the more rambunctious options, Firestone Public House offers breakfast with a side of sports and beer. We suggest you try their Pulled Pork Benedict with a Bacon Bloody Mary.

Hook and Ladder Manufacturing Company

1630 S Street, Sacramento

Named after a volunteer group which helped to rebuild the city after the fires of 1850, Hook and Ladder supports local farms, ranches, breweries and wineries. They serve up a delicious weekend brunch as well, representing the bountiful harvest California has to offer.

Orphan Breakfast House

Self-proclaimed as “one of Sacramento’s healthiest breakfast spots” Orphan Breakfast House, an extension of the Naked Coffee family, serves breakfast everyday of the week, turning traditional Latin-inspired breakfast foods into delicious low-fat and low-sodium fare. Keep in mind they are a cash-only establishment!

Rio City Café

Rio City Café is located in a steamship-inspired building right on the Sacramento River. With a dog friendly patio, they invite you to bring your furry friend along to enjoy bottomless mimosas and a farm fresh breakfast, including Crab Eggs Benedict and a Lobster Omelette.

Roxy Restaurant and Bar boasts fresh, made from scratch options (including homemade biscuits and doughnut holes) and jams made in-house. They source from local farms and ranches, and serve only their own Lucky Dog Ranch Beef. Try a traditional mimosa or their Pomosa made with pomegranate juice, paired with their huevos rancheros (shown above in our cover photo) — it’s almost too beautiful to eat!

The Porch

Since Earth Day in 1990, Tower Café has been serving a little something from every part of the globe. Try their Famous French Toast or Greek Pita Scramble — or their Jaliscan Hash, an 8 hour roasted pork, topped with poached eggs, red potatoes, peppers, cilantro and hollandaise!
