Buyers Going Green
Green living is no longer just a trend. It’s a virtue that most people have incorporated into their life in some way – whether it’s using reusable bags or off-the-grid living. Environmentally responsible features have become so commonplace, that they’re now a big factor among buyers.
Recent studies* by the National Association of Realtors show that a home’s environmentally friendly features are top of mind among buyers. Heating and cooling costs, energy efficient lighting and appliances, and landscaping for energy conservation were among the most important green features for buyers.
While the study focused mainly on newly built homes, the most desired amenities can be incorporated into homes of any age. The aforementioned systems can easily be upgraded or installed in a basic renovation.
