Lyon Real Estate’s Annual Coat Drive Kicks Off October 1st, 2023

We all know the comfort of putting on a thick coat when the weather turns cold. And with winter just around the corner, those chilling temperatures are sure to impact many in our community who lack the essential warmth of winter attire. Together with our agents, staff, and community, Lyon Real Estate is hosting its 13th annual Winter Coat Drive, “Coats for Our Community” to bring warmth to the Greater Sacramento region and those who need it the most. 

For the entire month of October, each of Lyon’s 17 local offices and real estate agents will be collecting new and gently used coats and winter clothing to distribute to those in need in the Sacramento, Yolo, Placer, and El Dorado counties. Each year, we’re able to donate thousands of coats, scarves, mittens, hoodies, fleece, hats, and more to over 25 local nonprofits and organizations. New and gently worn items in all sizes, ages, and genders are all needed – from infants to adults!

Ensuring that those in need have the necessary warmth during the harsh winter months is a crucial and compassionate endeavor,” said Lyon Real Estate President and CEO Pat Shea. “Through the efforts of our staff and community members, many locals will be able to experience the gift of warmth this winter.”

This year, organizations such as Hands4Hope, STEAC, CASH, the LGBT Community Center, Wellspring, Loaves & Fishes, Powerhouse Ministries, various food banks, and more will receive our donations. 

Lyon Real Estate’s philanthropic initiative, the Lyon Cares Foundation, plays a significant role in enabling agents and employees to actively participate in giving back to the communities they call home and serve. This commitment to community involvement and the positive impact that Lyon Real Estate has had on the Greater Sacramento region over the past 13 years is something Lyon Real Estate takes great pride in.
