How to Spend a Day in Granite Bay
Hugging the western shore of Folsom Lake in Placer County, Granite Bay is an upscale community just east of Roseville known for its family-friendly neighborhoods and high quality of life. With its proximity to outdoor recreation, world-class restaurants and abundance of shopping, there’s no shortage of things to do here. Following are some of the best ways to spend a day in Granite Bay.
Enjoy the Lake

Further upstream there are spots for whitewater rafting and camping.
Hit the Links

Have a Bite to Eat
It may not be as well-known as midtown Sacramento, but the dining scene in Granite Bay can still hold its own. In fact, it’s home to two of the best farm-to-table restaurants in the Sacramento region: Hawks, a refined American eatery with outdoor seating; and Farmhaus, featuring seasonal dishes crafted from local ingredients. Other good options in Granite Bay include Hazumi Sushi Bar, which has innovative takes on traditional Japanese fare, and Vaiano Trattoria, serving rustic Italian cuisine.
Taste Local Wine
It’s no secret that the Sierra foothills are home to some great wineries, and the area surrounding Granite Bay is no exception. Twin Rocks Winery has a bucolic country estate where they produce everything from sparkling rosé to primitivo. They also serve farm-to-table bites and host live music. You can also sample local wines at Mount Saint Joseph Wines, which has a quaint tasting room in the heart of town. If you’re more of a craft beer person, Granite Bay Brewing Company is a good bet. They serve several varieties of brews on tap, and have trivia, food trucks and live music.
Relax at a Park
