Celebrate the Fourth of July at These Sacramento-Area Events

Every day is a good day to celebrate the USA, but the revelers come out in full force on July 4! Parades, backyard barbecues, swim parties, community festivals, and of course, fireworks are all great ways to honor our nation’s independence. Coming together as a community is classic way to show our country some love, and there are plenty of events throughout the greater Sacramento where you can do just that. No matter where you live, there’s bound to be a Fourth of July event near you! Following are some of the most popular Fourth of July events in and around Sacramento.

 

Cameron Park Summer Spectacular

If you’re looking to get a jump start on the summer celebrations, check out the Summer Spectacular to be held in Cameron Park on June 24. The day kicks off with live music, followed by a fun zone for both kids and adults, food trucks, and of course, fireworks! There will also be a beer garden (with wine, margaritas and non-alcoholic beverages available too). Wristbands for entry are $15 and must be purchased online; buy in advance and show proof of purchase at the gate. Wristbands also get you entry into the Cameron Park pool July 1–2.

Folsom Pro Rodeo

Heat to the Folsom Pro Rodeo to get your fill of flying cowboys, mutton busting and painted ladies! The event in Folsom features challenges like sheep riding for kids, high-flying motocross and a female-led horseback drill team. Of course, you’ll also see rodeo events like bull riding, roping and barrel racing. There’s also some boot scootin’ at the onsite dance hall, live music, and a nightly fireworks show.

 

Rancho Cordova 4th of July Celebration
July 3­–4, 2023

Rancho Cordova is known for having one of the best Fourth of July celebrations in the area, and this year, they’re also celebrating 20 years of official cityhood. Held at Hagan Park, the two-day event will offer carnival rides, a parade, nightly concerts, hot air balloon rides and of course, fireworks, as well as choreographed drone shows. Food trucks and a beer station will be available on both days.

 

Arden Park Fourth of July Bike Parade & Festival

It’s a day of fun in the Arden Arcade neighborhood of Sacramento during this annual bike parade & festival. The parade starts & finishes at Arden Park, where there’ll be live music, a kids’ zone with inflatables, and hamburgers and hot dogs for sale. Best of all, the pool will be open with no cost for admission!

 

Roseville 4th of July Celebration

Run Crime Out of Roseville 5K/10K

Roseville is back at it again this year with their parade and fireworks show. The parade begins at 9 a.m., traveling along Vernon Street until it hits Royer Park. There will be live music, games and activities for kids, plus food for purchase. That night, Roseville will host a fireworks show at The Grounds.

 

El Dorado Hills Fireworks & Freedom Concert

El Dorado Hills will show off its patriotism this Fourth of July with a special event featuring two great American pastimes: live music and fireworks! In addition to all-day entertainment, there will also be vendors; a kid zone complete with bounce houses, face painting and balloon artists; and food trucks and beer and wine available for purchase. The evening concludes with an outdoor concert and spectacular fireworks display.

 

Elk Grove’s Salute to the Red, White & Blue

In Elk Grove, the fireworks spectacular is back this year at Elk Grove Park. The celebration kicks off with a free concert, followed by opening ceremonies and the National Anthem. Another concert leads up to the fireworks show, which begins at 9:40.

Davis Fourth of July Celebration
July 4, 2023

The city of Davis will be ringing in the red, white and blue with a family-friendly celebration at Community Park. The event will feature a game zone, snacks and treats for sale by local nonprofits, live music, and a fireworks show beginning at 9:35 p.m. That morning, the local Kiwanis club is hosting a 4th of July Kiddie Parade. Held every year since 1960, the parade invites children and families to decorate their bikes, strollers, wagons and scooters and roll their way through downtown Davis. The parade starts at 10 and pre-registration is not required.

 

Auburn Fourth of July Parade

Auburn is once again hosting its popular community event celebrating the Fourth of July. The day begins with a pancake breakfast in Old Town Auburn, followed by a parade that ends up at the Gold Country Fairgrounds. The evening will feature live music and vendors, with fireworks beginning around 9:30 p.m.

 

Woodland’s Independence Day Celebration

Woodland will be celebrating the Fourth of July with all-day activities throughout town. It kicks off with a pancake breakfast, followed by a bike parade at Heritage Plaza. There’ll be a live band, snow cones, a bounce house and games for the kids. The afternoon continues with an ice cream social at the senior center, with dancing and music, followed by games, crafts and activities, and of course, a fireworks show.

 

El Dorado County Fourth of July Family Blast

Up in Placerville, you can celebrate the Red, White & Blue at the annual Fourth of July Family Blast. Held at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds, the event features live music, a carnival with games and rides, food vendors and of course, fireworks! Gates open at 3 p.m. and the fireworks show starts after the race is over (admission to the racetrack is separate).

 

Sutter Health Park Fourth on the Field

Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento is hosting its annual Fourth on the Field event, featuring food trucks, fireworks and family fun! There’ll be all-American contests throughout the night, including a potato sack race, water balloon toss and pie eating contest, as well as live music and a kids’ play area with a splash pad. A beer garden will offer local craft beers, and Club-Level 21+ tickets will get you adult fun such as corn hole, ping pong and a full bar.

 

Lincoln Fourth of July Celebration

Lincoln residents can gather with their friends and neighbors at a Fourth of July celebration held at McBean Park. The day kicks off with a pancake breakfast fundraiser, followed by a parade in downtown Lincoln and a horseshoe tournament. Afterward, you can cool off at McBean Pool, or grab a bite to eat from the onsite food vendors. Later on, there will be games for kids and activities including a mechanical bull, rock wall and inflatables, followed by fireworks.
