Warm Up at These Sacramento Restaurants With Fire Pits & Fireplaces
We’re smack dab in the middle of the holiday season, and many people may be ready to get out of the house right about now. And with rain predicted off and on the next few weeks, it may be tempting to hide out inside until spring comes. But there will be plenty of breaks in the weather, and many area restaurants and bars offer roaring fire pits and fireplaces to keep you toasty. After all, Sacramento is a city that prides itself on its outdoor spaces, and a little rain isn’t going to keep us inside! Following are our favorite outdoor fire pits and fireplaces in the greater Sacramento area.
Drake’s at the Barn | West Sacramento
There’s nothing like sharing a beer (or two) with friends at a local brewery. But doing so surrounding a roaring fire pit and you have the makings for the perfect night out! Located in West Sacramento, Drake’s also has an onsite pizza restaurant, food trucks, and communal lawn games like cornhole. You can even hide out from the rain on their covered patio.
Wildwood | Sacramento
If you’re looking for an upscale meal in a refined setting, turn no further than Wildwood. Located in the Pavilions shopping center in Sacramento, Wildwood has an inviting outdoor patio with communal fire pits, perfect for curling up and sipping a craft cocktail. The menu features mostly American cuisine with seasonal ingredients, such as slow-roasted lamb and wild mushroom ravioli.
House of Oliver | Roseville
If live music is your jam, then House of Oliver in Roseville is the place for you! Local musicians and bands perform every Friday and Saturday, ranging from jazz to rock to country. The wine-centric dining room is rustic yet refined, while the outdoor patio is livened up with dangling lights and fire pits.
Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar | Roseville & Folsom
Hearty seasonal pub fare, craft beer, and a relaxed setting are the foundation of Lazy Dog, which has locations in Roseville and Folsom. The inside is rustic and lively, while the outside has oversized fire pits. You can also warm up with menu items like pot pie, wild boar chili and pot roast.
Mas Taco Bar | Sacramento & Folsom
Who doesn’t love tacos? Tacos in front of a crackling fireplace on a cold winter’s day are even better. Mas Taco Bar has tacos inspired from cuisine around the world, including Indian butter chicken, Korean fried chicken and banh mi shrimp. Of course, they have the traditional asada and al pastor as well. You can wash it all down with a seasonal margarita or craft cocktail. Plus, there are locations in Folsom and Sacramento so there’s bound to be one near you.
Loomis Basin Brewing Company | Loomis
This craft brewery in Loomis is a great place to spend the day no matter the time of year. There’s live music, food trucks and plenty of craft brew on tap. Come winter, you can enjoy your beer in the cheery outdoor space, warmed by a fire pit and outdoor heaters.
La Cosecha | Downtown Sacramento
Located in Cesar Chavez Park in Downtown Sacramento, La Cosecha is a casual Mexican eatery that focuses on seasonal cuisine. The menu features specialties such as chicken mole and chile verde, as well as tacos and tortas. Although the interior is small, the outdoor patio extends into the park, and has an outdoor bar and fire pit.
SacYard Community Tap House | East Sacramento
This family-friendly tap house in East Sacramento has everything you’d want for a day (or night) out: live music, lawn games and rotating pop-up food vendors. While there’s ample indoor seating, gathering around one of several fire pits provides a cozy ambiance on an otherwise dreary winter day.
The Independent | Placerville
This contemporary restaurant in downtown Placerville has a refined American menu. Selections include steaks, salads and burgers as well as creative starters like turnip fries and ahi tartare. Outside, you can sip one of the many locally produced wines in the private garden patio that boasts a fireplace (and plenty of heaters).
