Where to Take Mom for Mother’s Day Brunch

Mother’s Day and brunch seem to go hand-in-hand. And now that life is returning to normal, there’s no reason not to take mom out for Mother’s Day brunch this year. Restaurants are once again open for indoor dining (albeit with socially distanced seating), or you can enjoy the lovely spring weather on outdoor patio as per usual. So whether mom is craving bacon and eggs or chicken and waffles, there’s sure to be a spot in the greater Sacramento area that serves up her favorite brunch dish. Following are some of our favorite places for a scrumptious Mother’s Day Brunch.

Paragary’s | Midtown

Paragary’s in Midtown is known for its swanky design and lush outdoor patio, complete with trickling fountain and fireplace. This Mother’s Day, they’re offering a special fixed-price menu. Options include starters like smoked trout on toast and mains like a dungeness crab scramble, plus a selection of fresh-baked pastries for the table. As always, you can toast to Mom with an artisan cocktail, such as a lavender lemon drop or a honey old fashioned.

 

La Provence | Roseville

French country dining is the draw at this upscale bistro in Roseville. The menu is inspired by California and Mediterranean cuisine, and their special Mother’s Day brunch menu features starters like baked brie with rosemary and strawberry jam and entrees like a smoked salmon Benedict and crepes Madame. You can even order a bottle of champagne to celebrate Mom! Best of all, they have a charming terrace alongside a creek.

 

Hook & Ladder | Midtown

Midtown‘s Hook & Ladder is a sleek eatery with amazing craft cocktails and a farm-inspired menu. They’re especially known for their weekend brunch, which features dishes like chilaquiles, fried French toast and porchetta hash.  You can also grab a bottle of rosé or cocktail to go with your meal, with options like a hibiscus mule and strawberry French 75.

 

Milestone Restaurant | El Dorado Hills

This popular restaurant in El Dorado Hills has a varied menu featuring American classics as well as internationally-inspired fare. For brunch, they feature dishes like bacon pancake donut holes, egg scrambles, huevos rancheros and brunch Brussels sprouts, complete with bacon and eggs. They also have a creative cocktail menu to wash it all down, including the “Thumper,” a carrot-orange margarita.

There are few things as comforting and hearty as a good Southern brunch — unless, of course, it’s a good Southern brunch just for mom! The Porch in Midtown serves Southern classics using locally sourced ingredients. Their brunch menu features dishes like chicken fried steak & eggs and chicken & waffles, and you can also order breakfast cocktails. 

 

Zocalo | Sacramento, Roseville, Folsom & West Sacramento

With locations in Midtown, Arden Arcade, Roseville  and Folsom, Zocalo puts a south-of-the-border twist on a typical brunch menu. Brunch dishes include specialties like chilaquiles and a breakfast burrito, plus morning-time cocktails such as mimosas and Bloody Marys. They even have a new location in West Sacramento for takeout orders!

The Firehouse in Old Sacramento is a longstanding favorite for Mother’s Day brunch. This year is no different, and they have a special Mother’s Day brunch menu that is sure to impress the most discriminating of moms! The three-course meal includes options like lobster and crab Benedict, pork cheek hash and polenta cake and eggs, plus a lemon curd cheesecake or chocolate tart for dessert! There’s even a special menu for children.
