Where to Pamper Your Pet in the Sacramento Area

Whether a dog, cat, hamster or horse, pets truly are man’s best friend, and like any BFF, they deserve the royal treatment from time to time. Sure, you can pamper your pet with treats or toys (or maybe extra playtime or a bonus snuggle), but why not kick it up a notch? From frou-frou salons to gourmet bakeries just for pets, there are many places in the greater Sacramento area where you can pamper your pet. Following are some of the top spots.

With locations in both Rocklin and Granite Bay, Posh Paws can give your doggo the works — a relaxing spa bath with massage, facial scrub, even a mani/pedi. Their online store, the Posh Puppy Boutique, offers an extensive collection of designer collars, clothing, carriers and toys — even specialty items to keep your pup cool on hot days, like freezable teething toys and cooling pads. They also offer free in-store pickup for local residents!

This specialty boutique in Midtown has everything your cool canine could ask for, from clothing to beds and unique toys like reusable fetching sticks. They also have a vegan bakery, The Vegan Pup, where you can buy cookies and cakes for your four-legged friend. Best of all, a portion of their proceeds go to provide food and veterinary care to the nonprofit Pets of the Homeless.

They offer acupuncture treatments to help relieve pain and calm frazzled pets, orthopedic manipulation (chiropractic care) to help realign the body, laser therapy to reduce inflammation and improve circulation, and herbal remedies to heal the body without side effects.

They can do it while keeping your feline calm and relaxed! Does your bird need a feather-cut? They do that too! You can also splurge on a full body massage with calming essential oils for the ultimate treat!

If they’ve been an especially good boy, you can send them home with a special reward, such as dog treats flavored like blueberry cobbler or peanut butter. Or, pick up a unique handbag or animal-themed accessory for yourself. They also sell dog-friendly cake and cookie mixes!

Best of all, they serve craft beer and tasty snacks for humans while they wait.
