Sip While You SIP: Virtual Wine Tastings in the Sacramento Area

Sheltering in place got you down? Although the greater Sacramento area has plenty of great wineries nearby, shelter in place orders have shuttered tasting rooms and cancelled winery events that are so common this time of year. If you’re missing the breezy spring afternoons spent sipping wines with friends in the Sierra foothills or Sacramento Delta, fear not. Many wineries are now offering virtual wine tastings, so you can learn all about the latest releases without leaving the safety of your home. Following are some of the best wineries in the greater Sacramento region (and beyond!) that are offering virtual wine tastings and other events, so you can sip while you SIP!

Crystal Basin Cellars | Camino

Crystal Basin Cellars in Camino is known for its selection of wines produced from grapes planted by gold miners in the Sierra foothills. Their 100-year-old tasting room is a great spot to visit during a trip to Apple Hill. Now, they are going online, with Virtual Blending Experiences. You can purchase wines ahead of time and then follow along at home as winemaker Mike Owen blends his popular wines.
