REALTORS® Tee Up To Raise Funds for Veterans Resource Center

Agents, staff and local businesses came together on Friday, May 3 for Lyon Real Estate’s 15th-annual Charity Golf Tournament, raising $15,000 for the Sacramento Veterans Resource Center.

The all-day event, held at Timber Creek Golf Course, was a 124-player scramble. First American Home Warranty was a Platinum sponsor, and Guild Mortgage, Purves Insurance and Colliers International were silver sponsors. The day also included a raffle and awards luncheon, with prizes going to the top women’s, men’s and mixed teams as well as Closest to the Pin and Longest Drive.

The proceeds raised at the golf tournament are being donated to the Sacramento Veterans Resource Center. The center provides permanent supportive housing for military veterans and their families, in addition to behavioral health services, alcohol and drug counseling, group counseling, life coaching, cooking classes, employment services and individual case management.

“We are happy to be able to donate to an organization that helps our veterans live up to their potential and build enriched lives for themselves and their families,” said Pat Shea, Lyon Real Estate president.

Lyon offices participate in several fundraisers throughout the year. Later this year for the ninth consecutive October, all offices will take part in Lyon’s Coat Drive, donating the collected coats to organizations that help women, children and men stay warm during the winter months. Last October, Lyon agents collected nearly 14,000 coats.
