Among the many reasons we are lucky to live in Sacramento, we have a pretty ideal location. Sacramento is situated about two hours from both the beach and the mountains — two completely different settings with unique sets of outdoor recreation options.
Lake Tahoe is situated amongst the majestic Sierra Nevada, where snow sports enthusiasts travel to from all over the globe. We are fortunate to live within reasonable driving distance from a collection of popular ski resorts, from big names like Heavenly in South Lake Tahoe to smaller resorts, like Sierra-at-Tahoe.

Whether you are cruising down the ski runs ranging in difficulty or spending an afternoon in the tubing area, Soda Springs will not disappoint. Twin Bridges, CA | Distance From Sacramento: 91 miles
Nestled just south of Lake Tahoe, Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort is the third-largest ski area in the region with over 2,000 acres of slopes and 200 acres of backcountry trails. The mountain offers pristine conditions for skiing and snowboarding in addition to some of the most picturesque views of Lake Tahoe from a peak of 8,852 feet. While there are a plethora of hotels in the area, there are a few recommended hotels close by. Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel is located in the heart of town and Aston Lakeland Village has a free daily shuttle, a full kitchen in each unit, and an in-house rental shop. Located just down the road from its sister resort, Soda Springs, Boreal Mountain Resort is an easily accessible resort from both Northern California and Nevada.
