The Lyon Cares Foundation Grants $2,500 to Butte Fire Relief
The Lyon Cares Foundation announced today that the Amador Community Foundation is the recipient of a $2,500 grant for the Butte Disaster Relief to help families and individuals displaced by the Butte Fire. The Amador Community Foundation works with the residents of Amador County to improve the lives of others and assist those less fortunate.
The Amador Community Foundation established the Community Disaster Relief fund in direct response to the destruction caused by the Butte Fire in 2015. Their goal is to give all donations to shelters, organizations, and agencies that provide short or long term relief for those affected by the fire. The foundation is currently working with long term recovery teams to distribute donations to families to help rebuild homes. The Foundation has stated the Disaster Relief fund will remain in place for future incidents as they arise.
Operated by Lyon Real Estate, the Lyon Cares Foundation provides grants to organizations that provide food and shelter to those in need in the Greater Sacramento Area. Funds are raised through donations by Lyon agents and staff throughout the year in addition to Lyon’s annual Charity Golf Tournament.
“Amador County is blessed to have such wonderful people come together to help their community,” said Patrick Crew, president of the Amador County Foundation. “It is amazing to watch how supportive they have been with one another.”
“The Butte fire has brought so much devastation, and this grant to the Amador Community Foundation will be directly distributed to those who need assistance with re-building,” said Pat Shea, president of Lyon Real Estate. “Our hearts go out to the families who have been affected.”
Several times each year, the Lyon Cares Foundation presents grants to non-profits that provide food and shelter to those in need through nominations made by Lyon Real Estate agents.
